The word Lolita refers to a Japanese street fashion which has been inspired by clothing created throughout the Victorian era. This is a fashion movement which primarily began in the 1980’s and has grown significantly. This is now a fashion statement which is made throughout the world and can be interpreted in many different ways if the word and the definition of Lolita aren’t cleared up. Many fashion statements are interpreted in different lights but the term Lolita describes certain concepts and attributes of a woman. The Red Lolita dress can fit into the “GothLoli” or the “EGL.” This applies to certain subsets; EGL abbreviates elegant gothic Lolita. There are many different types of Lolita looks with the incorporating of different colors but this look as a whole was created by Mana, a Japanese musician with the idea of the Lolita clothing line. This is a term that is misconstrued because of the connotations. When it comes to this fashion it refers to a child-like nature and beauty in the innocence of a woman. It is often that this fashion is mistaken for being sexy in a pedophilic nature.

That is ill-conceived and incorrect, being that there is also a Lolita lifestyle. Say, that you are wearing a red Lolita dress and others know you for wearing that dress often with the accessories that fit into that style of Lolita. This woman may have a punk edge to her while still wanting to maintain her innocent and childlike behavior. A woman doesn’t have to be “proper” to wear the red dress; she can be innocent yet evoke a wild streak as well. There is also a classical design of the red Lolita dress which represents the Victorian era much more accurately. This is a deeper red which is a bit more classical. The shade of red will express the look in its right nature and the type of makeup that is worn along with it will do the same. The color red is referred to as a stimulant, and it will actually increase enthusiasm. Say that you are sitting in a red room… it’s going to further increase the amount of enthusiasm that you are feeling towards a certain subject. It will encourage confidence and provide a sort of protection against anxiety. A red Lolita dress stands for a girl who is confident in her ways without exploiting herself and her image.
